Can children participate?


The league is open to youth who are 12 years old as of 1 November 2020. This restriction is directed by government regulation.




What is the upper age limit of participation?


Players must be between the ages of 12 and 60 for the duration of the season. (1 November 2020 - 20 March 2021) This is directed by government regulation.




What is the difference between Division 1 and Division 2?


Division 1 is for more experienced players who use tactics and different effects on balls to win matches. Division 2 is for less experienced players who are starting match play or are working towards more advanced moves. Dividing by skill will lead to a more enjoyable and more competitive league experience for everyone.




Can I register for singles and doubles?


Players may register for one singles and one doubles category, if they wish. Matches will be scheduled with this in mind, alternating weeks for these play formats. Singles and doubles matches will not be played in the same week unless necessary due to rescheduling.




What is the fee?


There is a fee of AED 55 per entry to participate. This covers all court time, 3 cans of Wilson balls and a league t-shirt.




How do may partner and I register for doubles?


Doubles partners should register separately. Make sure you list your partner where indicated on the form. Spaces for doubles are secured when the second partner pays; no space is guaranteed until both partners are registered.




How many spaces are available?


Spaces are filled on a first come, first served basis. For doubles, the second partner's registration will secure a spot. Teen categories will accept 16 players. Adult categories will accept 32 players. Men's Singles is full in both divisions! What division should I register my child in?


Children must register for the division that suits their age. There is not currently an option to "play up". Only children who are 12 years old or older as of 1 November 2020 are eligible.




When are matches scheduled?


Teen matches will be scheduled on Fridays throughout the day and evening. Adult matches will be scheduled on weekday evenings and on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the day and evening. We will do our best to accommodate your availability based on your registration, but this is not guaranteed.




Where are matches played?


In Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, Emirates Palace and Zayed Sports City will host matches. These venues are approved by Abu Dhabi Sports Council for their commitment to the Go Safe playing protocols. If you desire to play in the private facility at Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, please indicate this on your registration form.




Who cannot participate?


People who fit any of the below descriptions are ineligible to participate in this activity. - Age 11 below or as of 1 November 2020 - Age 61 or above as of 20 March 2021 - Reside outside of the emirate of Abu Dhabi - Players who have coached tennis after 1 November 2019 or will coach any time during the season - Are unwilling to adhere to the Go Safe guidelines




Can you help me connect with a doubles partner?


Absolutely! If want to play doubles but don't have a partner, email us on abudhabitennisleague@zsc.ae and we will try to match you.




What should I do if my preferred category is closed?


Please make sure you are on our mailing list and following @AbuDhabiTennisLeague on social media to know about the latest updates. We will announce any news about the league here first. If you are an adult, consider playing in a different category, such as doubles. We can even help you find a partner.
